Not sure how to assess that being that I don't really focus on QG (kayvey)] 10.Bf4 see the comment after Black's last move (i.e. a david's last comment) 10...Bh4 same comment (a david) i'd like to add.. why the heck is he throwing away his bishop like this? (kayvey) 11.Nxh4 Qxh4 12.g3 weakening the kingside, but I guess he wants to fianchetto. That might not be bad but I don't like a Bf4 with a g3 pawn behind it like that unless it is in a Paulsen/Kan or something with a Qc7 in the Sicilian. Just a random probably meaningless thought since I don't really study the QG. (kayvey) [ I like 12.Bg3 (kayvey); Fritz still wants to play 12.Bxc4 ] 12...Qe7 13.Nb5 [ 13.Bxc4! takes a pawn and develops a new piece (a david) but I'm not sure it deserves an exclam here. You could call it just natural development really. (kayvey) Fritz, being a materialistic automaton likes it as well, but now that white has played g3, I would feel more comfortable with a Bg2. (also kayvey)] 13...Na6 Diagram

[ Fritz agrees with a david (see below) and prefers 13...e5 14.dxe5 Nxe5 15.0-0-0 ( 15.Bxe5 Qxe5 16.Nc3) 15...Nd3+ 16.Bxd3 cxd3 17.Rxd3] 14.f3 e5 this might have been stronger a move earlier (a david) yes. and I think this is related to why I never liked the Bf4 staying there. I wanted to move him back to g3 where at least black has to make a lot of crazy kinside pawn moves before he gets harrassed. A configuration like this, with some piece situated laterally two files over from a pawn, here, I refer to the Bf4 and the d4 pawn, always jumps out for me. I guess I have a penchant for closed positions, probably to my detriment, but the thing i notice about this sort configuration is that black forces a trade of a pawn if he so choses.
